WALIMU Conducts Board Induction to Strengthen & Leadership

On Friday, 24th April 2026, WALIMU – World Alliance for Lung and Intensive Care Medicine in Uganda successfully conducted a Board Induction event, officially welcoming a new cohort of Board Members to the organization.

The induction marked an important milestone in strengthening WALIMU’s governance and leadership as the organization continues advancing its mission of improving health outcomes and strengthening health systems across Uganda.

The newly inducted Board Members bring a wealth of expertise and experience across multiple disciplines including finance, law, medicine, public health, education, research, human resource management, and resource mobilization. This diverse leadership will play a critical role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, enhancing accountability, and supporting sustainable growth.

As a research and policy advocacy organization, WALIMU remains committed to saving lives through evidence generation, implementation research, and scaling innovative health solutions that improve community health systems, maternal and newborn health, and healthcare governance.

Speaking during the induction, the organization emphasized the importance of strong leadership and collaborative governance in driving impactful and sustainable health interventions for communities across Uganda.
