Surge Capacity for Rapid Response to Diseases of Epidemic Potential

Walimu is a key partner to the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization in responding to diseases of epidemic potential.

Since 2014, Walimu has led training and staff surges in response to Ebola outbreaks. During COVID-19, Walimu surged training, empowering hundreds of health workers to respond to the pandemic. Walimu also frequently prepares national guidelines for tackling severe illness and diseases of epidemic potential.

The Africa Research Collaboration on Sepsis (ARCS)

ARCS is conducting a cohort based Randomized Control Trial to test novel interventions in Sepsis which include checking for drivers of anti-microbial resistance, novel interventions in improving triage of patients admitted with Sepsis and training and mentoring of health workers in using ultra sound to diagnose Sepsis.
