Research and Scaling
Our mission is to improve patient outcomes in Uganda. To achieve that mission, we research how to empower health workers to address local health problems in innovative ways and then scale up what works with the Ministry of Health.
Care of the Hospitalized Patient
We increase the survival of children and adults who present to the hospital with sepsis or other severe illnesses. We do so by testing and implementing innovations in triage, management and post-discharge care.
Global Health Security
We improve detection and response to diseases of epidemic potential by improving facility and community level capacity.
Health Systems Strengthening
We work with the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization to develop clinical guidelines, build capacity and develop communities of practice.
TB Diagnostics and Care
We improve tuberculosis diagnosis and care by undertaking high-quality clinical, epidemiological and implementation science research to identify barriers to TB evaluation and develop strategies to address them.
